Mervin Louis Kahumoku Jr., 62, of Kailua-Kona died May 11 at home. Born in Honolulu, he was fire chief at Keahole International Airport in Kona, a U.S. Air Force veteran, musician and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Visitation 8-11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 75-230 Kalani St., Kailua-Kona. Services 11 a.m.-noon. Elsie Lorraine Perry, 85, of Kula, Maui, formerly of Hawaii Island, died April 28 at home under care of family and Islands Hospice. She was born in Kukuihaele. Alan Katsuo Wakatsuki, 62, of Kailua-Kona died May 4 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Ewa, Oahu, he was a retired banquet porter for Courtyard Marriott King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel and worked at the former Kona Surf Resort. Celebration of life at noon Sunday, May 22, at Kailua Pier in Kailua-Kona. Reception to follow at Honu’s Restaurant in Courtyard Marriott King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel.
